This phenomenal, three-dimensional model accurately and in fine details captures Prague at the first half of the 19. century, when it was still very much a Baroque city. The model covers 20 square meters and includes more than 2,000 paper models of individual buildings.

The model was created with incredible determination and talent by Antonín Langweil between 1826 and 1837, just few decades before Prague embarked on a full-scale transformation into a modern metropolis.


The model is in permanent collections of Prague Municipal Museum where, thanks to a recently installed remotely operated camera, a visitor will enjoy close-up views of the model.
